The first René Caovilla boutique in the US opened in November 2006 at 150 Worth Ave in Palm Beach, FL, followed by the online boutique in May 2007, and the Rodeo Drive boutique in May 2008.

The long road that is now seeing opening of namesake boutiques in cities such as Palm Beach, Beverly Hills, Milan, Rome, Paris, London, Dubai and Tokyo started at the dawn of the 20th century. The opening chapter was written by Edoardo Caovilla, who learned his trade from the great Venetian industrialist Luigi Voltan, the man who initiated the Riviera del Brenta's distinguished history of shoe-making. Caovilla embarked on a road that was halfway between handcraft and couture, which his son, Renč Fernando, evolved in the Fifties, forging the link with art and fashion. With his sights set on the select top-end of the market, he became a sculptor of sophisticated evening shoes, elegant bejeweled creations, sensual super-precious chaussures. Renč Caovilla thus carved his niche as a creator of international standing. The Seventies saw him enter the fashion arena, thanks to a patron of excellence: Valentino Garavani. The special creative affinity nascent between the couturier and the designer led to the birth of cult objects, fetish creations carrying the signature emblem of 'Valentino by René Caovilla'. Next came the collaboration with Christian Dior, the maison with which Caovilla crafted dreamlike, richly imaginative creations, a mix of fairy tale and reality, for the Parisian catwalk. Then came the era of Chanel, when the artistic spirit of Caovilla met and melded with the rigorous stylistic genius of Karl Lagerfeld.
Today, the Veneto-based company is one of the gems of Italy's North-east. Located on the Riviera del Brenta, just a few kilometres from Venice, the atelier-company today exclusively produces Renč Caovilla signature footwear. The company's artistic lab is the birthplace of jewel-collections of elegant shoes distributed the world over. The first Renč Caovilla branded boutique, which is located in Milan, is a luxury salon in the heart of the city, at Via Bagutta 28, furnished with works of art, wall tapestries and architectural features from 18th century Venice.
